Not sure if I have posted these before. Skippy's pictures reminded me of the time when I went out to this amazing airfield in the California desert with Neil Pearson, Peter Rolt, Kevin Jackson and Peter Greengrass. My first sights of Skywarriors, Convair 880s/990s and of course a C-133, all destined never to fly again, but nonetheless impressive, and a sky to behold.
...and the highlight, some EA-3 Skywarriors previously operated by Raytheon and the Navy...

When were you there, as the Skywarriors were still flying when I was there in 96 along with the 2 DC130's. The Impalas were still in crates after delivery from South Africa. Were the 2 F106 Delta Darts still there, next to the tower.

Clue is in the title Scott! Much has changed since 96, no F-106s or DC-130s.
Good times, that was a real bonus getting the tour without expected it. It's definitely a fascinating place and there's some gems you haven't posted. I must go through my shots...

An interesting selection of Frames there! Good to see the CV880's are still hanging on!
