XH558 returns to Bruntingthorpe - 12/11/2008

Couldn't have asked for a nicer day to take photos... good to see the old girl back in the air if only for a straightforward trip home for the winter!

One for Iain PlanesTV...

And finally, the proof that the ground crew have been working their fingers to the bone - bloody fingerprints on the starboard gear door!

Great shots as ever - something rather pleasing about the simple side-on 'chute shot. Perfect photography weather as you say.

Sneaky B****r!

Are you sure you're not just touting for embroidery work with a shot of that nasty iron on?

Love the silhouettes. As you say - couldn't have hoped for better conditions.

It was Kev Rumens' first trip as Captain (chap holding the bottle).

That first gear door shot is a nice composite. Took me a minute to realise! Lovely set.

It's not a composite.

Did you blur out the middle depth of field then? Interested to know as it makes for a cracking shot.

No post-processing other than crop/resize.

Taken with a tilt and shift lens hence the unusual focal plane.

Thanks. Works very well, and as you say creates that unusual effect. Nice
