Hi,

A selection of shots from Friday 13th March at Elvington. Thanks to the Yorkshire Air Museum and Timeline Events for their efforts in hosting this event.

Like the shots.

Do you think it was worth the high price?

Looks great, looking at the last DC-3 photo, it appears to have a nose bleed?

Lovely shots though, thanks for posting.

I thought about the price as well but considering the time, effort it took to organise the event and not to mention the cost of the fuel, it probably is worth the money.
Lovely set of photos, it's worth going just to see the Halifax and Mossie out in the fresh air and the flames from the Dak, well they're the icing on the cake.
Maybe I'll try for the next one....

Has to be noted the flames from the dak are not a normal thing. They had a problem with the engine which they are hoping to be sorted this weekend.

Thanks.... It was a fairly expensive evening, but given the fact it sold out suggested people were happy to pay the amount.... it was certainly the upper end of the price range I would have paid, but pleased with the results. The re-enactors were very good, and the Dak engine run was great, especially as the chap on the ground dispensed with a HV vest for this. Hopefully the museum have made a decent profit to help with their preservation work.

Having the other 3 aircraft, besides the Halifax, was a welcome addition, and generally the participants were good at not 'hogging a spot', so we could get a variety of angles.

The biggest challenge was actually getting the sunny-shots of the Halifax, as the grass area was 'out of bounds', which seemed to be health+safety related due to the risk of rabbit holes, etc.... while they did finally tolerate a group of 25+ people going out there, it would have been good to have roped off a designated walkway behind the hangar to a 'safe photography area', to avoid any issues.

Overall, good evening out!

Lovely set of images and much appreciated positive feedback. A few points made for a future event have been noted. Thanks Neil (Timeline Events).

It did indeed, a hydraulic issue which has now been rectified.
