RNHF Swordfish I W5856 up and away - 20th June 2015

Whilst driving up to the Fleet Air Arm Museum on Saturday morning, I noticed the Royal Navy Historic Flight hangar doors were wide open...
Intrigued, I stopped by for a couple of hours to see what I hoped would transpire.
My patience was rewarded, after a couple of false starts earlier in the week!

Another 'biplane' (well there was once a RAF biplane type) also took off whilst I was there...

Well done RNHF and all the others involved in the task with getting her back flying again after a 12 year absence.

Nice paint scheme. Hopefully we can see a two ship swordfish flypast in the future?
Well done to all involved

Great pictures Mark, the Fish has been flying again virtually all day today, certainly getting everything 'run in' for the new season, sorry I didn't see you in the museum yesterday as I have been working all weekend as it would have been good to catch up.

Great set of photos there, good to see it back in the air again, I was there on Wednesday and saw it parked outside the RNHF hangar.
Cheers for posting these,

Lovely pics and lovely aircraft. What aircraft does it represent? The font of the serial number is idiosyncratic, as well!

Not sure of the actual aircraft serial, but it represents a Stringbag of 820NAS, that participated in the Bismarck raid.

Nice shots there Mark, I see that they've converted the Commanding Officer Lt Cdr Chris Götke AFC RN onto the Swordfish yesterday as well as both Chris & Simon getting there PDA :yahoo: .
