Salute The V-Force Tour photo thread

Post by Timc »

Well in just under an hour XH558 takes to the sky for the first part of the V-Force Tour.

Post your photo's in this thread and let's see how many locations and different angles we manage to get. Maximum 3 pics per location per person please.

Cheers
Tim

Very quick edit of the climb out at Manchester Airport. This shot is virtually overhead. :yahoo:

For Woodford, Adlington Golf Club was the place to be. We watched her approach Manchester, swing in.. shoot down the runway and Turn for woodford. She did a flypast and then banked for a stunning topside pass. turned over lyme park and then came back. I lot of people with dust in their eyes again. and ive never seen so many people there just for one aircraft.

...And another 3 from Cosford, although I found myself in a wheatfield overlooking the base and managed to find a few patches of blue. All the surrounding roads were rammed as was the Museum site.

Sad to think I'll never see her grace the skies of Shropshire again. :(

Some of the best Vulcan shots I seen for quite a while. Most seem to be in great sunlight, pity that a big cloud came over Manchester as she came down the runway. Still if the sun had been out I doubt I would have got my shot.

Taken from a vantage point a couple of miles away from Woodford (I had hoped she'd come down the old approach) but managed to at least get XH558 and XM603 in the same frame. A shame also to see that her birthplace is all but lost to the bulldozers now.

EDIT: Seeing the first one went down well, another "Vulcan Duo" shot

After a couple of non-events in the past, I decided to go somewhere where I had a fighting chance of at least seeing the Vulcan, even if quite far away, And so it proved. We to a point about half way between Manchester airport and Woodford on top of a footbridge near Handforth Dean. Sure enough right on time we spotted the Vulcan in the distance. By this time a decent number of folks had arrived to watch.

Not the greatest photos I've ever taken but I was quite pleased anyway.

Not long back from Elvington. Went down to put Lindy out on the airfield at silly o clock before the other airfield event opened. Crowds like I have never seen at the museum was worth the wait, in spite of being the first port of call and heavy on fuel we got three good passes.

Image

The ladies look good together.

Waited till crowds cleared brought Lindy home and put her to bed a very good day.

Arrived at Elvington at 12:40 and was absolutely taken aback by the amount of people there, thousands of cars! Got myself down to the front of the runway infront of Lusty Lindy XL231 and we were treated to 3 overhead passes, one very low the closest i've ever been... and I managed to get my best ever shots of this beautiful girl! See you in 3 weeks!

Lovely shots, even though there are a lot of people that 'hate' XH558 and VTTS, it is such a shame this is her last year.

Really like that last photo in particular, the one of Lindy and 558 banking round behind her.

Great pictures everyone :-)

Where's the best place to see her depart/arrive at Robin Hood tomorrow?

Cheers.
