Monino Central Air Force Museum, Russia :UPDATE

Post by dinovandoorn »

One of the best museums in the world is located at Monino an has been very long on my wishlist to visit ! many unique pieces can be found but photographing them can be hard due to the lack of space or the size of the exhibits :-)
I will not drop all the pictures at once due the big ammount of exhibits :-)

Great photos Dino.

When did you visit?? - I thought the place was closing and some of the exhibits were being moved to Patriot Park at Kubinka??

Are they still all at Monino ???

I went last year and it was just amazing. It was almost like I literally couldn't believe I was there. It's one of those museums where you take a few paces and are suddenly confronted with yet another piece of aviation history.

Great pictures - though you should post more!

I have visited Monino every year for the past 20plus years - and still take more photos.....

I haven't been since 2013 - ..........

In 2011 one of the old lady 'guardians' allowed me to go up on a balcony in the newly finished hangar to take a panoramic shot..... 'bistra. bistra'...

I visited the museum last month ! and yes all are still at Monino. I heard the rumors as well but i think this is a big mix up with planes who are in the Patriot Parc... these are overhauled at Kubinka and then moved to Alabino. So no museum at Kubinka.

Thanks for the reply.

Nice to see the La-15 with a new paint scheme - and the Yak-130 has moved places.
