Navy Wings Supporters Day 2017

Post by paullangford »

My first time at this event & being a member.
What can I say ?, just a brilliant day, superbly run, made to feel welcomed and appreciated.
Endless supplies of tea and coffee, some ace presentations, a substantial buffet, pretty much unrestricted access to the facilities and aircraft...............and then some Winkle Brown Beer as a parting gift !.
It was a shame the Sea Vixen didn't fly, but that was tempered with the news of a future prospect of having 2 flying Harriers & a Wessex on the scene.

A HUGE thank you to all the staff and volunteers who put this together.............I salute you !

Check the Sea Vixen thread in Aviation Waffle for more on the harrier plan.

This is not a criticism, but why the double images for some of the moving people in the daylight shots?
A camera setting perhaps?

Looks like you had a good day... kind of envious :)

Hi wallace, the static shots were an intentional long exposure, I was trying to get some cloud movement............and people were milling about........as they do  :cuppa:

Personally I quite like the effect, if anything I think it would benefit from a few more layers to add a sort of abstract movement and focus the attention on the aircraft. I had already planned on some long exposure experiments myself this season, and seeing this shot in particular has encouraged further. A great set, the static shots out on the apron are standouts for me:clap:

Hi Pringles,

Thx for the nice comments.
