Hi all,
Today saw Gloster Meteor T7 WA591 return to the skies over Coventry, for a brief shakedown after a lengthy spell of maintenance. WA591 has recently been sold to a US-owner, and will be moving over summer, so there are only a limited number of chances remaining to see her fly.. For now at least, it was nice to see and hear the Meteor back in the sky where she belongs!

Nice stuff, Cameron.

Pleasing to see this back in the air after spending so long grounded, but sadly for me hearing that our oldest airworthy jet is going to be leaving these shores pretty much sums up the dwindling status of our flying classic jet movement in the UK. If it wasn't for a few owners / operators who still have the balls to continue flying jets we would have nothing to remind younger generations of how the sound and power of the British military jet engine has evolved over the past few decades - from Meteors / Vampires and Jet Provosts to today's Hawks and Typhoons.
