Blackbird
It can only be Spanhoe Lodge as that`s where the Desford has been on restoration, now looking super, well done Carl and team , can`t wait for it`s first flight and see it on the circuit.

Lovely, now if only someone were to organise an event to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Auster! :ninja:

Brilliant picture of the Desford, Are you happy for me to post this on a Southampton forum where we were discussing this just a week or so ago.

Very long time since I've seen the Desford, probably late sixties/early seventies.

Many thanks for the comments, it is indeed Spanhoe - the airfield holds a small annual fly-in for Auster Club members. I was invited as a member of the Auster Club as we (Threshold.aero) are organising the aforementioned Auster 80th event due to be held at Middle Wallop next April.

I understand the RS.4 Bobsleigh last appeared on public display in 1978/79 as part of the Strathallan Collection. The aircraft is, I understand, ready but was awaiting the necessary paperwork at the end of August.

Thanks,
