Decided on a last minute trip out yesterday to the Jet Age Museum, what a fantastic little place it is too.
The volunteers were all so friendly and helpful.

Looks a nice place to visit, thanks for sharing the photos
Those that matter, don't mind. Those that mind, don't matter

Nice shots Steve, thanks for sharing
Went there in October, it's a nice little museum - if a little cramped.

Shame all those Meteors cannot be kept indoors. Looking a little worst for wear, some of them.

I think they're hoping to expand the museum, but like all things it will take time. They have another Javelin sat in Gloucestershire Airport that they hope to take inside too...

Re: Jet Age Museum
The museum is looking to expand, initially to the west with an engineering/restoration/education centre, and towards the airfield, expanding the main hall. As with everything this relies on fundraising, as the projects will be well into 6 figures £, so if anyone knows a millionaire or two with a passion for heritage aviation... There are volunteers in the museum with many more braincells than me working very hard to secure the funds.
The museum is very proud of it's entirely volunteer team and how time and time again, we are told how friendly and helpful they are. It is one of the major reasons I volunteer my time every week. It was also one of the reasons we were awarded the Queens Award For Voluntary Service last year.
@lynothehammer , the grey t7 is VW453, ex-RAF Innsworth gate guard.

Nice set of photos, that museum has been on my list of roundtoits for years now. I really must do something about it and go on that long promised long road trip.
Got a big soft spot for the long nose Meteors....

Hats off to you all, if it wasn't for volunteers there would be no preservation movement to save all those important types that would otherwise have been scrapped. This is one for me to do as well thanks for sharing
Member of Newark air museum and trustee/acquisitions officer just trying to save what we all love and thats history
