Just joined this forum super keen on warbirds especially, the South Australian
Aviation Museum is around 30mins drive from Adelaide city.
One of the many RAAF Caribous housed at museums around the country,
biggest issue these folks had was getting her from Queensland to South Australia.
As with many museums a couple of machines under restoration, plans are to
paint this Anson in an all yellow trainer scheme.

Bit rarer this one, they have the centre section and some parts of a Fairy Battle,
most of this will be new build to static condition, a lot of the parts where recovered
from the sea.
Perhaps the prize machine of this museum the Spitfire MkVc, this machine is on
long term loan by Langdon Badger and his family. Constructed in 1942 by
Westland Aircraft Ltd, Yeovil, Somerset, UK, it was shipped to Australia in 1943.
It became part of the RAAF’s 79 SQN at Goodenough Island and later Kiriwina
Island, PNG, using Squadron code UP-O. From these bases (with a drop tank of
extra fuel) the aircraft helped protect bombers as far as Rabaul, New Britain.
On 28 August 1943 it had a landing accident on Kiriwina Island and was transported
back to Goodenough Island. Langdon Badger found the aircraft in 1971 and had
it shipped to Adelaide in 1973 where he restored her over a number of years.
This machine may be one of the most authentically restored static Spitfires in
existance. While not airworthy she is authentic and complete with all instruments
and controls, the inhibited engine is zero timed a part from the Rolls Royce factory
run.
The fuselage as found in 1971.
Some of the parts from Langdon’s collection.
A Zero drop tank with evidence it has been dropped!

Re: South Australian museum
Thanks very much for posting these. For me personally it's great to see another Westland built Spitfire survivor. But I do love the Caribou, and the prospect of the Battle restoration.
