The Navy Sea Fury T20 came in for a tyre change on 21 July

The Sea Fury departed back to Yeovilton late afternoon

It returned again for planned engine maintenance on 26 July

I'm interested to understand why it had to go to North Weald for tyre change rather than being able to do that at Yeovilton, or is this aircraft actually not based at Yeovilton?

My understanding is that as it's on the civil register, it has to be maintained by a CAA-recognised/licenced body. The military aren't.

Does that extend to the location where the work is carried out as well? Would surely be cheaper and save hours on the airframe if a CAA man and his van drove to Yeovilton.
