Post by rjlaker »

Hi all,

Spent a great day with my dad at Heathrow to capture a few departures from a few spots. Thanks to Darryl for the info on the first spot!

Nice shots. Were they taken down near the Esso garage?

Good shot's. Taken on Sunday? Supposed to have been cloudless according to the BBC forecast.

Alex,

I was there on Sunday as well based on he same forecast you saw.

Cloudless it certainly wasn't.....

Nice shots Rob,

Better watch out Darryl

I really like the monochrome shot of the departing 777, whose is it?

Cheers,
Jeff.
I know you think you understood what I said, but I'm not sure you realise that what I said is not what I meant.

When shooting through the fence do you have to remove the lens hood? What lenses were you using for them?

All of them are stunners, its rather uncomfortable shooting through the fence and under the barrier on the LHR perimeter but the shots are awesome!

Thanks for the comments!

Silent_Eagle - The lineup shots were through the south perimeter fence, just near Cains Lane, and I kept the lens hood on to protect the glass. I used my Sony G series 70-400mm...Neilos - The climbing shots were from just near the Esso garage...AlexC - It was indeed on Sunday, and I went along hoping the forecast was correct...RRConway - The departing 777 in monochrome was Qatar.

Here are a final few:
