Dreamliner & others at MAN 240412

Postby Sully on Wed 25 Apr 2012, 11:17 am

Hi all

Luckily I had a day off work yesterday and the forecast was looking pretty good so it was an easy decision to take a ride up to the local airport to catch the visiting 787

A few quality hours spent amongst some good company and with a few 'firsts' in for good measure. Mix of shots taken from south side track and along side runway 2

Hope you enjoy and c&c welcome

Main reason for visit..............

Very nice. And I see on the cockpit shot they were taking a picture back too.

What time was that BA Olympic scheme in?

First one's a really good angle to view the new boeing shape. And the one with the 737 is a really good comparison shot.

Great shots, particularly liking the shot of the captain waving to the enthusiasts
And interesting comparison of the 738W with the 787!

Guys

Thanks for the kind comments

The Olympic Dove A319 was in around 1245-1330, driving from the south side track to the threshold of 23R we hadn't realised it had come in until it was on it's gate

Yes, the 787 is indeed a very quiet bird, especially when it did it's flypast....you could hardly hear it!!

Sods law that it must've been one of the only planes I didn't see all day! Might've been en-route to the end of 05L about then I suppose.
