Monarch ... Malpensa ... Magnificent !

Yes I was lucky enough to go with the 'Monarch Airlines Enthusiasts Trip' to Malpensa .... What a supurb event, my heartfelt thanks to all involved especialy Toby and Andrea .... Toby was the 'team leader' of those members who travelled from Manchester and Andrea 'looked after' the team travelling from Gatwick !
Included in the itinerary were visits to the baggage handling system, the control tower, the VIP lounge and the Volandia Museum, as well as some free time to look around the terminal and adjacent area !
The team of most helpfull people, from the airport authority, who guided us around the airside, control tower and museum were wonderfull ! nothing was too much trouble ! They seemed so pleased that a group of people could be interested in their airport and assured us we would be welcomed back at any time !!

I will make another thread covering the very interesting museum visit in the historic section very soon !!

TomTwin. Yes it was a brilliant, if tireing, trip, a lot packed into a very short time ..... this is the third, that I know of, Monarch Airlines Enthusiasts Trips organised by some very nice people ! I have only found out about these from 'heads up' type things within these aviation forums !! ...... You have to book by telephone and seats are limited ! this trip had 24 passengers from Manchester and 16 from Gatwick .... this is not a charter flight rather a few seats allocated to the event on regular scheduled flights ... as I have now joined this 'merry bunch' I am told I will be emailed details of forthcoming events a little earlier than it going public .... if so I will try to inform all of the next events !!!!

Really wanted to attend this Monarch trip, having attended a previous event but sadly it clashed with RIAT. Looks like you had a good time, some very interesting traffic too! Any more photos?
