A few from a sunny Southend today. Rushed around from the Vulcan open day to get this nice 737 departing.
Then on to see some of the stored airliners:
The Gambian 727 is looking a lot more complete now, would be interesting to know when it is due to leave.
Rather unhealthy looking Citation.

Nice shots there Lee such a sad sight seeing those HS748s like that.

Thanks, I'm not sure what is happening with the 748s, they have been there for a while now. There are also two in the grounds of the Skylark hotel there, but you cannot get around the back of the hotel by car, and I didn't really want to walk through the grounds with the camera in case they wondered what I was doing. From what I could see the two 748's are looking rather sorry for themselves now. Still not sure what they thought they could achieve by buying them and just leaving them in the undergrowth.

So have they never used them then also is Jane's Aviation still in business or did it go bust?
On Airliners.net they have it under Gama Aviation.

The flight was listed as Gama Aviation on Flightradar24. Looks like it went to Moscow. I think it is a regular at Southend.
It appears Janes Aviation was set up with two aircraft after Emerald Airways went to the wall. Originally Emerald started up as Janes Aviation. According to Wikipedia the Janes AOC has been suspended.
Not sure about N748D, but according to G-INFO Database, G-OSOE was registered to Emerald (PTY), with the certificate of airworthiness expiring in Dec 2009.
G-AYIM was registered to Janes Aviation, with the Certificate of Airworthiness also expiring in Dec 2009. Strangely, according to the database, it states it was "Transferred to another country or authority." (United States of America), with the registration date ending in May 2011. It is still at Southend though, minus one engine.
