Kingfisher A330 Arriving Heathrow - Saturday 6/9/08

Post by JohnH »

Unfortunately a bit of a dull day for such a bright aeroplane, but here’s a quick shot of a newcomer to Heathrow.

Kingfisher Airlines started A330 flights into Heathrow last Wednesday. They arrive between 1430 and 1500. Flight number is IT001

Nice catch John - heard they were due to start ops around now - but didnt have a fixed date as to when it was. Nice to know that they have finally started. Is it a daily service do you know?

Shame the British summer caught up with you.

Cheers Andy

Yep, it sure looks like they are daily. There's been one in every day since start of ops and another due today (Sunday). Should be VT-VJK today for anyone interested. Although looking out the window at the moment, it looks a triffle wet.

Kingfisher have been alternating between VJK and VJO, so they may only have two aircraft at present. They are due to get an initial fleet of five A330's and six A340's.

Thanks for the info John, hopefully i'll catch one of them soon.

They also have VT-VJL too - this was the example that was at Farnborough earlier this year, so as far as i know they have 3 in service with a 4th due very soon - that being VT-VJN.

Aah, missed the Farnborough one, was out of the country at the time.

The China E was indeed B-2383. China E have reverted to A340 ops as of the end of August.

Air China on the other hand are to start daily A330 ops into Heathrow on 27th October with the start of the winter timetable.

Great catch John, just a shame about the weather. I do like this scheme and glad it's got proper engines

Right at the start they were using A340-600s then down graded to the A340-300 - then for a short time earlier this year they were using A330's and have now gone back to A340-300 ops.

On a side note - will make a change to see the Air China A330s!
