Air Berlin last landing

Post by TonyB »

Friday the 27th of Oktober saw the last Air Berlin flight. The flight started in Munich and landed later in Berlin Tegel. An estimated crowd of 1,600, not only enthusiasts, were on the visitor platform to witness the event. On the apron were also hundreds of Air Berlin workers - many of whom face an uncertain future. Lufthansa have taken over a number of aircraft to fly under the Eurowings brand. The crews however will have to re-apply for jobs. EasyJet and Condor have shown interest in some of the remaining aircraft.

Thanks for the feedback.

The photo was my reward for standing in the same position for at least 4 hours.........

It was the pilot who made the photo possible in that he stopped the aircraft for around 30 seconds so that all those who wanted to could take their photos.

A really atmospheric shot of when a plan goes well. Congratulations on capturing the moment!
(I'm guessing this was Thursday 26th??) Good Luck to the former employees in getting new work.

Thanks Stagger2 for pointing out that I´d completely messed up the date, I´ve corrected it.
