I enjoyed a short break in Gibraltar back in early December and while taking in some Gibraltar Premier League football at the Victoria Stadium, i managed to grab some shots of the of some arrivals and departures at the airport. Obliviously the quality isn't brilliant but hopefully it gives an idea of the proximity of everything in the territory.

The following day I went up the rock to have a tour around the Second World War Tunnels. These lead to an opening with an incredible view across the border and airport.

...followed by a long stroll to the airport viewing gallery. The walk across the runway is a strange feeling to say the least!

From the heat of Gibraltar.....to standard Manchester! Yesterday I made the trip up to the Bolton for the football but stopped off at the Manchester Viewing Park. This was my first visit and it's an excellent set up. Despite civil aviation not being my thing, it was a great way to spend an hour or so. The weather was truly awful so again, the quality isn't great.

What a quirky and interesting place, where else would you find a footie pitch next to a runway (along with a level crossing too)? Does the RAF still use Gibralta?

Yes the RAF still occupy the site to the south of the airport with a couple of T2 hangars and a very weather worn Jaguar

We don't see many pics from here that's for sure.Certainly a unique place.
If a man speaks when he is alone in a forest and there are no women around to hear him, is he still wrong?
