A general Dux question

Sorry if this is the wrong section.

I've just been pondering why at shows at Duxford they don't land the typhoon on display days?

Because I remember Tornado's on the ground years back.

Is it for safety reasons??

It's to do with Duxford's truncated runway length (thanks to the M11) - visiting fast jets usually operate out of Cambridge or Mildenhall.

I believe there is also an issue with the surface - fast jets stopped operating after it was resurfaced and I think its an issue of not being able to withstand afterburners.
