Yeah although the show says it starts at 1:30 the NOTAM for the PdF finishes at 1:10 on the 5th so maybe it will be a 1:00 start

Times on NOTAMs are in UTC, so it probably expires at 2:10pm BST. Unless you already added the hour. Can you post the NOTAM?

Get the Birmingham New Street to Stansted Airport train. There are free shuttle buses just outside cambridge station which depart quite regularly.

i looked at coming down on the train but its a 4 hr journey. plus the only train to get you a reasonable time is at 9.10 which gets you to cambridge at 1.00 or you could do this journey which will get you into cambridge at 11:

Outward journey: Saturday 4 October 2008 Station Arr Dep Travel by Service Provider
BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET 22:48 Train LONDON MIDLAND
COVENTRY 23:22 23:30 Bus LONDON MIDLAND
NORTHAMPTON 01:02 06:40 Bus LONDON MIDLAND
WATFORD JUNCTION 08:46 08:51 Train LONDON OVERGROUND
LONDON EUSTON 09:38 09:38 Tube*
LONDON KINGS CROSS 10:15 10:15 Train FIRST CAPITAL CONNECT
CAMBRIDGE STATION 11:01

sounds like a nice journey i think i'll stick to pops driving it only takes 2 hrs

Courtesy bus timetable...

As XH668 has said the C7 takes a long time (over an hour) and not every bus goes all the way to the museum, so be wary.

Check the weather forecast during the week first. Saturday is best day for practice arrivals although RAF/Navy aircraft will probably arrive Friday afternoon with cease work.
