What nonsense. So a silver Red Bull P-38 is more accurate than (say) the IXT painted up to represent the only two seater flown by the RAF?!!Rob.Brindley wrote:I agree, but it's their show I guess.
That being said, the P-38 is a rare bird... There are lots of Spitfires that "Look" right to that image the public has in there head.
MIss Velma though? and the T.20?

Perhaps Dan will get the chance to ask Stephen personally at the show?

Given my experience watching from the crowdline was precisely zero fun last year, I somewhat doubt that...

Oh bless. You were probably the only one not enjoying it then... Perhaps a golden Rolls Royce Dan'Omobile that elevates you over the crowd and then takes you into the naughty field with a Pimms and salmon luncheon would be more to your liking?....

Quite. Better make sure that's in an authentic Rolls-Royce-approved paint scheme though, eh?
Well along with zero fun of course, authenticity is a Legends byword, so yes.st24 wrote:authenticity is a Legends byword, so yes.

Yes, we quite remember your risible bleating about the P-38's appearance last year...

Hmm, little old me moaning about the fact that a show I've paid to attend for many many years and that I enjoy immensely every time I go managed to get a very rare albeit (in my eyes) horrid finished warbird or you going on and on about the fact how poor it was 'cos you had to pay and stand with the riff raff, the innumerable near catastrophes, the lacklustre flying from the crowd side, the lack of decent top sides........
Which one is worse - you decide....

Once again Dan has showed he is truly skilled in hypocrisy and contradiction when comes to posting on the internet. It's all very well hiding behind a computer screen and moaning (as well has contradicting yourself, as he does on a regular basis) but when it comes down to doing something constructive and productive he is nowhere to be found. A childish man who if doesn't get his own way or something he doesn't like appears he throws his toys out the pram and resorts to being spiteful as several people on this board will confirm.
I am sure this post will be deleted and seen as an 'attack' against him, What it is in reality is a sad truth of one of the many, no-mark keyboard warriors on this earth.
Nonsense.
My criticisms of Flying Legends were entirely valid. The squabbling for space on the crowdline makes for a dreadful experience, and I for one have no intention of paying £££ to then have to chain chairs to a fence, or sit there for hours on end before flying starts just to be in an adequate position for photography.
And UKAR's review of the show this year was entirely fair too.
Flying Legends attracts a superb lineup of warbirds - this is without doubt. The notable omissions year-in, year-out are curious though. Peter Teichman's excellent collection, Maurice Hammond's machines and indeed the Grace Spitfire.
Exiler wrote:you, as a whole, are not press in any sense of the word and to be fair a lot of people who gain access to press passes are not press, is this right?
Exiler wrote:I am aware YOU paid and went in just like everyone else, hence comment about the great unwashed. the fact of the matter is you proceeded to comment on those you did not feel merited press passes at the time in your review of the show when frankly it was not you or UKAR's place to comment.
The prices for the show are reasonable considering the price of aviation fuel, maintenance of the aircraft and admission to the museum. If you do not want to pay for the over priced junk food bring in a pack lunch, its easier and I bet you its healthier.
