Its fantastic and I really hope to see 2 P40B/Cs in formation soon something I would of said was impossible in the past. Even better if fly with the Hawk 75 a unique sight.

Yes we did P-40B,F and N with the Hawk, I am more thinking of just the early example P-40B/C pair with the Hawk but the more the merrier.
You can not have too many P-40s ever.

Yeah, the landing incident with the DR1 forced the P40's to cancel on the Sunday.

Catalina PH-PBY has Flying Legends on its schedule for the Sunday only (Saturday will see it at Veterans Day in The Hague, which, from a PR point of view, is a mayor and important event for the operators).

Not sure why this has been posted as they are NOT down to visit Flying Legends 2012.

The only PBY on the parking plan is the DX based example.

They may not be factual or even correct but sitting watching the rain come down in buckets for the 40th day in a row one can only be exited by any prospected participants now matter how fanciful they maybe

As for facts you could say the BBMF website have confirmed participation as has Sally B, presumably we shall see Snafu, the Corsair, spitfires, a couple of Curtis’s, hawk, or Hind, P51 and a Sea Fury from the TFC. Possibly a couple of other Spits from resident operators at DX and a Hurricane, P51 so the makings of a display list of sorts.

For rumours could this be the year that we see a flying FW190 again and even a Me262 !!!!!

Hi Bert perhaps my earlier post may have prompted the post regarding the Dutch cat ?

Info is coming from the "Verenigde Vleugels" magazine (May 2012 issue). Info there is coming straight from the operators (as straight as: they have written it themselves, no journalist or something like that that listened only with a half ear).

The schedule that was in the "Verenigde Vleugels" only tells us where they are flying too, not if they are displaying at that place. The president of the Neptune association which operates the PBY told me that they only fly people into Flying Legends. For now they don't perform as a display act

Personally, I don't see how you can all moan at Legends. It's the best warbird show this side of the Atlantic. Yes, it may be slightly overpriced, yes you have to arrive half an hour before the gates open to get a 'perfect' spot on the tank bank, only to find someone has put a tent in front of you after you return form the crowded toilets. But think of what you are seeing. In no other country will you see 4 Hawker biplanes, or the P36 or such a diverse range of aircraft. It's only because people think of Legends as the best European airshow that you expect to see every Spitfire flying in Europe or genuine 109's. Think - when has seeing a single Spitfire flying over a WWII airfield ever been a bad thing? It's because we have been spoilt with such a diverse range of aircraft that you belive TFC should fork out the money to have them all at Legends. And then what happens the year afterwards when they have to find something else to wow the crowds? I've been to every Legends since 2005 when I was 8 and have never seen a need to complain.

Count yourselves lucky you are fortunate enough to be able to see what TFC has to offer.

I agree 100%. But you will never please all the people all the time. Every show has its carpers! And of course we are all entirely free to choose whether we go or not.

I think most of the grips are about Duxford with its location in relation to the sun ! and the amount your charged to get in. Like both of you personally i don't have a problem with any of these and totally agree with the first comment. The only issue i would have is the amount it costs for a greasy 'fat burger'.

I have been doing legends since 1997 about the 3rd or 4th year and have every programme and now a growing collection of VHS, DVD tapes from every one. This year for the first time i doing all 3 days Friday, Saturday, Sunday and may even consider using the naughty field on one of the weekend days  Since 2000 both my parents and 2 veterans make this an annual pilgrimage as i live an hour's drive from the airfield we always have a party on the Saturday night and show clips from the previous years show just to get into the party mood. At a cost of well over £100 for all of us to get in i still think its worth it. Where else can you see Spitfires, Hurricanes, P51's, Nimrods, Hawks and a whole host of other piston engined war birds at one show over a genuine WW2 airfield

Well coming from a dedicated "Legends nut" what more can be said? The gripes about the sun are pointless since the likelihood of the airfield being rotated 360 degrees is remote and the ticket prices compare favourably with dozens of other high profile entertainment venues. And if the weather is as good as the line-up is likely to be another 40/50,000 will be there this year.
