Thanks for the information is the T55 of Air Atlantique Classic Flight flying? To this day I have not seen this one at any shows I have been to.

Hi Duxfordhawk

The Classic Flight Vampire returned to the air towards the end of last season, after being 'off the road' for a while. I think in late September / early October it actually made an appearance at Duxford (not on a display day) while it was testing.

Following the CF Night Photoshoot in December a problem was identified with the jet pipe by the engineers; new parts have been sourced and were fitted recently. Engine tests are scheduled for this week. The Vampire's debut is on May 29 at the RIAT Press Day.

One of the highlights for this season should be at the RAF Cosford air show where, all being well, the Vampire will display with the Meteor T.7 akin to the old 'Vintage Pair'.

Not sure of its other commitments at the moment - the two most booked items for this season appear to be the T.7 and the Anson.

Typhoon is starting the show at 14:00 and it finishes at about 17:25 with the Spitfires. Two Chipmunks, Jungmeister and Hurricane Z5140 have been added to the list according to this app.

Here's hoping the app will be available for Android devices before Sunday...

I had an email from Duxford yesterday saying the Android app will be available to download "in a couple of days". Cutting it a bit fine but let's hope it is there tomorrow/Saturday.

Is someone able to confirm whether you can pay on the day? I didn't get my advance ticket this year as I was a bit dubious about the weather! I'd hate to drive for 4 hours and then not be able to get in! I've been to some Duxford shows where people have been turned away due to it being at capacity, but I plan to get there for 8ish.

Cheers!

Yes, you should have no problem. I believe that Legends has closed the gate for capacity reasons some years but I'm sure you will not have a problem at that time this Sunday.

Unlike this time yesterday morning when it was a tad cloudy, there is wall to wall blue sky at the moment so hopefully no problem with haze today. :yahoo:

Subject to all sorts of course I've now been informed that the French team due to arrive today at 15.00, F-16 will demo at around 15.30 followed by the Typhoon at 15.45 but don't shoot the messenger.

Thank you for the information, I would love to attend RAF Cosford and will look into whether its possible money wise soon If not maybe catch up with the Vampire at RIAT. The Vintage Pair were one of my fond memories of shows when I was growing up so it would be a total piece of nostalgia to see that again.

Glad to hear the T7 is proving a popular booking and really look forward to her display at Duxford on sunday, and the Anson is just lovely and very rare sight too.
Good luck for 2012.

Bought the tickets last week money come out of the bank and no tickets  so rang up today and got told wernt on the system but they could see that they took the money out. they handled the situation well and now have to print something out as proof.

Weather looks great, sun creams a plenty and line up is good!

One more thing does anyone know the display frequency?

Be aware. Buses are replacing trains between Attleborough and Ely on the Norwich to Cambridge line, meaning a journey of 2 1/2 hrs.

Luckily I've managed to cadge a lift.

Free tea/coffee in the marquee from those nice FoD volunteers
Maybe some (not free) snacks
Seats set out in neat rows outside the marquee, forward of the regular crowd line
(NB. no standing allowed in the seating area during display! "Serious" photographers stand behind the seats)
Toilet trailer - cramped, but with minimal queuing.

A very minor correction - there are no snacks but plenty of biscuits and lots of cold drinks which are all free but donations are always welcome!
