Any provisional dates for the Spring Airshow next year?

Post by StopSquark »

Hi, I live in Canada and am currently planning a trip for May next year to the UK. It would be great to see the Duxford airshow but I need to finalize my plans relatively soon due to work reasons. Any idea on which weekend in May is the Airshow going to take place?

It's usually in November when the Museum announce the air show dates for the following year.

The only known date is for Flying Legends which is on the 13th/14th July 2013.

Hi guys,
I'm planning my first Duxford airshow in may. I red the show should finish around 5.30pm on sunday and my question is: how much time it would take to get out of the base after the show? Basically, how much do you think it would take me to arrive to Stansted airport (by car)?

The show finishes around 5-5.30 pm but the museum closes around 8 O'clock so you will have plenty of time to look around the museum after the show. There are normally ques to get out of the car park so it's worth staying around for a while. It will take around 15-20 minutes along the M11 to get to Stansted pending the traffic is ok.

The only problem is if you are parked in the car park near the Land warfare Hall, is all traffic is directed away from the M11, What I would do is follow the traffic and you can only turn left as you leave Duxford, for around a mile and you will pass the pet crematorium and turn back towards Duxford and get back on the M11 that way.

Hope this helps

There's also a few country roads running off it as well so you can drive up and turn arround on one of those as there is not much traffic.

Brilliant.
The flight back should be at 9.30pm from Stansted, so plenty of time.
Thank you very much for the info.
