Where has that information come from? The IWM Duxford participation list is still showing the 23rd April update.

Do IWM say anything about sourcing another Mustang?

Fingers crossed Frankie is in the air for Legends.

As we build up to the show, make sure you have a read on the history of the 78th Fighter Group to get you in the mood for remembering the Mighty Eighth and the Eagle Squadron tributes:

The Mustang won't do what a Spitfire does, but it does it over Berlin.

Rather than start a new thread and as it's loosely related to the air show

From the Sally-B web site

Sally B over East Anglia on Bank Holiday Monday 27 May

A unique 8th Airforce 70th Anniversary Tribute Flypast will take place on Bank Holiday Monday 27 May over a selection of USAAF bomber and fighter bases in East Anglia. The flypast consisting of our B-17 Flying Fortress Sally B with four fighters from the Eagle Squadron, a historic four-ship comprising a Hawker Hurricane, Spitfire, P-47 Thunderbolt and P-51 Mustang.

Over Bassingbourn and Madingley Sally B will fly in formation with the fighters. After passing Madingley the Eagle Squadron will break away and the B-17 will then be following a few minutes behind them.

Timings for B-17:
Duxford Take Off 1148 Fighters take off after Sally B
Bassingbourn 1156 With fighters in formation
Madingley arrival 1200 With fighters in formation
Madingley departure 1204 With fighters in formation
Mildenhall 1212 Sally B trailing the fighters
Bodney 1221 Sally B trailing the fighters
Snetterton 1226 Sally B trailing the fighters
Knettishall 1228 Sally B trailing the fighters
Horham 1233 Sally B trailing the fighters
Thorpe Abbotts 1235 Sally B trailing the fighters
Halesworth 1240 Sally B trailing the fighters
Leiston 1246 Sally B trailing the fighters
Duxford landing 1306 Sally B flypast before landing

Fighters return 1331

Here is hoping for brilliant weather for this unique historic flypast.

No mention of North Weald or Debden so I assume only the fighters will flypast those airfields

Just guessing, but Sally B direct back to Duxford from Leiston whilst fighters carry out further flypasts during that extra half hour?

I'm guessing the Hunter will be Miss Demeanour as that's the only one they book.

Retired USAF Colonel Richard H. Graham, a former pilot of the SR-71, will be giving walk-around tours of the 'Blackbird' in the American Air Museum at Duxford Imperial War Museum as part of the Spring Air Show.

Tours will take place at 10:30 and 12:00 on Sunday the 26th May. There will be a book signing following each tour to showcase his new book, 'SR-71: The Complete Illustrated History of the Blackbird, The World's Highest, Fastest Plane'.

Keep your eyes on UKAR too, as we'll have copies of this book up for grabs in the coming weeks.

 If it's the same guy as did a presentation last year, he's well worth half an hour of your time. His knowledge of the aircraft and it's operational history was a pleasure to listen to. Get there early though as the crowd noise makes it difficult to hear him at times unless you are near the front.

Teaser in todays email from IWM

The Red Arrows will conclude the flying display in classic British style. Look out for a very special final flypast which brings together the best of British and US aircraft.

I've not driven to Duxford for quite a few years, what's the best position to arrive to park behind the Land Wardfare Hall? Last time I ended up parked over the road.
