Sally B over East Anglia on Bank Holiday Monday 27 May
A unique 8th Airforce 70th Anniversary Tribute Flypast will take place on Bank Holiday Monday 27 May over a selection of USAAF bomber and fighter bases in East Anglia. The flypast consisting of our B-17 Flying Fortress Sally B with four fighters from the Eagle Squadron, a historic four-ship comprising a Hawker Hurricane, Spitfire, P-47 Thunderbolt and P-51 Mustang.
Over Bassingbourn and Madingley Sally B will fly in formation with the fighters. After passing Madingley the Eagle Squadron will break away and the B-17 will then be following a few minutes behind them.

Retired USAF Colonel Richard H. Graham, a former pilot of the SR-71, will be giving walk-around tours of the 'Blackbird' in the American Air Museum at Duxford Imperial War Museum as part of the Spring Air Show.
Tours will take place at 10:30 and 12:00 on Sunday the 26th May. There will be a book signing following each tour to showcase his new book, 'SR-71: The Complete Illustrated History of the Blackbird, The World's Highest, Fastest Plane'.
Keep your eyes on UKAR too, as we'll have copies of this book up for grabs in the coming weeks.

If it's the same guy as did a presentation last year, he's well worth half an hour of your time. His knowledge of the aircraft and it's operational history was a pleasure to listen to. Get there early though as the crowd noise makes it difficult to hear him at times unless you are near the front.
