Sounds more like a church fete than an air show - should give the anti Duxford contingent plenty of ammo.

Logically thinking, that's a very early list with no warbird meat on the bones. Impossible to judge a line-up so far in advance. I wonder if we'll finally get the much anticipated DH9 debut after it's sat on the last 350 participation lists.

The Blades and wingwalkers do very little for me in the grand scheme of things, but the GWDT are always great (and have the new Avro 504 to boot).

I don't why everyone hates The Blades & Aerosuperbatics so much?! Two very professional and highly entertaining teams. Both considered 'filler' items by enthusiasts due to the lack they're seen so often sadly.

The real story here is the fact the IWM have finally upped their game and started listing participants in decent time... bravo!

No 'theme' announced for either show, unusual for the IWM? :dunno:

When Duxford has a theme, it can really produce an excellent show. Hoping they can do so equally without one.

Does anyone know if Duxford will stick with the new display line this year or change things again?

Some comment on here about themes for the Duxford air shows.
September show just call it a Battle of Britain weekend, and add more of a ground base element, 1940's weekends are very popular, and if IWM can get a Belgium F-16, for example, a story can be concocted to fit in, same for any RAF type with squadron connections to BoB. Add the local Spitfire, Hurricane, Buchons and you have a show that will appeal to the public.
July show is Legends, simple. Enthusiasts all know what to expect and expect the general public understand the event as well.
As for the May show if they have a theme and things dont work out then it will be seen as a poor show, without a theme it can be a blank canvas and IWM can pay for headline attractions, anything from the Skyvan to the Sea Vixen, and it will all fit, doubt the general public will be notice the difference. So long as IWM dont take the easy route and simply book two or three aerobatic teams and safe (cheap ?) attractions. Give the USAF at Lakenheath an open invitation to send what they want. It might be an F-15 flyby with a KC-135, or they could send a HH-60 for static display.

Expect the Apache to be added to the list, solo display again for 2017. Dependant on what price the Army are asking for I imagine...

Wonder if we'll see anything from the states?
We've seen F15's on multiple occasions and the demo itself. Also the Raptor last year as well as the Kc135 and the Osprey.

Have to say, stellar line-up so far so hats off to the IWM! I'd be tempted if it wasn't for the extortionate ticket price...

Used to love going to Duxford, but after last years May show it'll take some line up to get me back. Just keeping an eye on this thread to see if it improves!

Worth making the point that the ridiculous 500ft restriction placed over the M11 last May was lifted by Legends. It's very much business as usual now!

Wishful thinking for the combination of Dragonfly and Comet, as seen at Old Warden in 2015...?

It's Agusta. Only one 'u'. Although technically it's now a Leonardo MW Apache.
I'm not picking faults, Brian, because for all I know you may have copy/pasted from somewhere else!
Nice to see the 109 out and about.
