Duxford Bus

Post by XH668 »

Ok i think my lift has abandoned me and i really need my airshow fix :grin:

Anyways im looking at alternatives. Im on the train line between london and c'bridge and ive been to duxford via the bus before. It was shocking and was of a bus for the villages than the IWM.

What i want to know is, is theere a more direct one as its a display? and if so what are the times?

cheers

Yep...there's a free bus to Duxford from the station that leaves pretty regularly and avoidsthe worst of the the traffic on airshow days.

From the IWM website;

A free courtesy bus will run from Cambridge to IWM Duxford on air show days. The bus will depart at regular intervals from Cambridge Railway Station and Trumpington Park & Ride at Junction 11 of the M11 from 8.30am until approximately 1.30pm.

The bus will also depart from the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cambridge at 9.20am, 10.50am and 12.50pm.

Buses will return to both Cambridge and to the Park & Ride at regular intervals from 3pm with the last bus leaving Duxford's Visitor Centre at 6.30pm.

Timings of buses may be affected by local road traffic congestion.

The last bus from Duxford is supposed to leave at 6:30, but if there are still people waiting they continue them...
