If reliable, I think this all but confirms my weekend attendance.

Holy sh*t on a shovel!

Haven't seen a Flanker display for years!!!!

Brillian news if confirmed, now hopefully they are bringing something special with them with the number 50 in its current designation ;-)

Seems genuine although I'd wait until FIA confirms it. Also only two? Does that mean a solo demo with a spare?

well that would certianlly be a bit of a shock. The support aircraft is normally a IL-76, but maybe something smaller (An-26?) for 2 aircraft.

Looks like it will be a solo display by the su27 with the other one being on static. If you translate this page, see the fourth post down.

Might be something like this....

Interesting,

I thought they used their 5x Su-35's for the solo displays as they were too powerful to fly with the rest of the Flankers so formation flying was done with their 6x Su-27's?

The SU-35's havent flown for a number of years apparantly. Either way, its a coupe and a half for them to snag these! Its looking like this year going to be there organisers fighting 'we've got the best, no we have, no we have!' and guess who wins out

Beautiful looking aircraft. Arguably the best looking Russian fighter in my opinion.

I think I'll hold out on this one, I seem to remember these guys having a habit of 'confirming' for shows they later do not attend. I'd rather hear it from Farnborough.

Realistically I can't see this happening, why would it just be 2 aircraft for a start, and just for 14/15 July, not the whole week?

They done airshows in the past with just two aircraft and the youtube link shows it, The reason I think it is because 14/15 is the public weekend and why display on the other days thats not for the public and surely that would be Sukhoi job to do.

It's just why would they only display on 14/15,not say 13th aswell,it's just so random if you know what I mean, come all this way just for 2 days, maybe if they confirmed for RIAT,then went static for a week (rest and sight seeing for crews and support)then displayed on public days of show then it makes it a bit more believable,I guess it being 100 years of Russian Airforce this year,it's a good year to celebrate this and promote Russian aviation overseas?

I live in hope
