Monday 16th July, Departures.

Hi all.

I was wondering if it is possible to watch the departures from FIA and if yes where is the best place?

Regards
James.

Probably Eelmoor Bridge, look at my site for details http://www.farnboroughspotters.com/viewing.html. It is perfect if 06 is in use byt no use for 24 departure photos for all but the largest aircraft as they will be high by the time they reach you. Parking restrictions remain in force until the Wednesday after the show so the 24 end by the hotel is out of bounds.

Okay thanks.

So that place would be good if they're using 06?
Just hoping to get some good pictures of the knights and some of the USAF stuff.

Im afraid there is nowhere to photograph aircraft lining up on 24 because the only place you can take those photos will likely have no access . This is the internal road in front of the Aviator hotel which will be closed for traffic but not sure about pedestrians as the road was not there last show.

When will you know definite if the road in front of the aviator is open to pedestrians?

Hi James will not know about that road until the Monday. The problem is access as you would need to walk through the business park and during the show all entrances are manned with passholders only allowed, Monday may be different? Another issue would be the fine mesh fence which will only take a compact lens.

Okay, that would be an issue, do you know if the fast museum would be open on that day because that looks like a pretty good bet for taking pictures if they are using 24?
