Various rumors floating about on participants. Most likely is the new A350 in partial Qatar scheme, plus gulfstream 650 and 280. Also a Turkish delevopment of the Agusta 129 and the Hukus (PC-9 look alike) trainer, plys the new Dassault Falcon bizjet. Roll on july

The Falcon 5X isn't likely to make its first flight any time before 2015.

I am more excited by the Qatar A320 and A380 as the others are likely to be lHR regulars at some point? Of course most of them, probably except the A350, will be gone by Thursday.

A380 will be common at Heathrow soon I'd imagine.

I take it the Shuttleworth lot will be roaded Farnborough. I don't think they would risk flying rare aircraft like the Bleriot there!

Im hearing that the US military participation will be very small, possibly only a F-16 flying  . With a dearth of likely fast jets we may only see F-16, Macchi 346, maybe Gripen and maybe the Yak-130 again, not much at all really. Hope my info is wrong as I at least expected a F-18.

P-8 and F/A-18F would have been a little more interesting. I'd have thought for convenience one of the CV-22s from Mildenhall would be easier?

They're the DoD assets going to be displayed, if the P-8 and F/A-18F birds do turn up they will be company machines either prior to delivery or test aircraft (increasing the possibility of the 18 carrying conformal tanks and weapon pod). These aren't usually listed as DoD participants.

In regards to the Ospreys, it could be the Mildenhall boys are on ops at that time of year.

Is it likely that the DoD will also confirm these aircraft for RIAT, or is this solely for a sales pitch?

DoD only organise aircraft for trade shows not regular airshows, those assets will be through USAF/USN etc.

Although if the DoD want to perform flypasts at Farnborough then a B1/B52 would be at Fairford as happened in the past.

Anything actually "for sale" at Farnborough is entered by the manufacturer so as Andy says F-16, F18, P-8, Wedgetail will all be manufacture backed, but can be drawn from DoD assets hence getting the Spang F-16 every year!

Thanks for that APG, sounds like nothing definitive for RIAT (going off topic here). I would be surprised to not see a P8 Poseidon at FIA this year though.

The Marines MV-22's are far better than the ones from the halls because it means they will bring several USMC Herks with them, Think we had 3 in 2012 and 5 in 2010!

looking at the flying participation list so far its not really setting the world alight
Starduster, Great war display team, Extra 300, Aerostars, Wingwalkers, as long as the wingwalkers wave at the public and keep them happy!
