People planning their day is a primary reason for ensuring that any published program is accurate, and the one released was history not news. News today is that the C160 Transall has cancelled  as has the Swordfish. The P51 Mustang has been replaced by the Kittyhawk as mentioned earlier in the thread.

Kittyhawk is a grand replacement, Cancellations are a shame but they're nothing major in this case! Looking forward to snapping the Jags on Static! Hoping to get there in time for the Taxi run! Highlights for me will be the VC10, of which I hope the Pilot will push the noise level up with those conways, and also the Meteor T7 and Tornado role demo will be grand to see! Roll on Sunday!

For crying out loud, I was just getting used to not being able to get to Cosford on Sunday and then you go and bag Hangar 11's P-40.

Damn you!

Just had a flick through the FB photos, very nice indeed

Shame about the C160, didn't the same thing happen last year? They promised one about two weeks before and then it didn't show up?

Excellent news about the P40!

Quick question on getting to cosford, is the entrance by the station the only way in, or will there be other entrances to get onto the airfield? To get there.I only ask so i can plan my route.

Many thanks.

here's a quick map I've thrown together of the usual routes into Cosford for the past few years.

Green route - normal main entrance route past the main gate of DCAE Cosford

Red Route - Neachley Lane, take you past the back side of the camp and in through an entrance, next to the main museum entrance

Blue Route - Turn off the Shifnal Road, this route crosses the runway and gets closed off mid morning, if I remember correctly.

Traffic routes this year have changed. Follow the AA (yellow) signs to the airfield.

I shall be arriving with a police escort across the runway at about 10.30. Accompanying the Lord Lieutenant in his Jaguar (not the flying type!) - and no I'm not the chauffeur!

Hoping for a decent bit of weather after last year.

Well, we are off and running.

Weather is cloudy and overcast. We did see the sun (albiet very briefly)... Let's hope it stays dry.

Typhoon is doing his thing as I type this.

Yes. Happening now. It's the VC10 from the Queens Birthday flypast which also displayed at Coningsby's Family Day. Looks like it overnighted in Lincs.

As I type this the Blades have just started their display, this was my first visit to Cosford and I had a great day, had no trouble getting in and for the most part the weather behaved itself, for me it's not a UK airshow if it doesn't rain at some point lol

Just got home, being a fast jet fan I naturally thought the Typhoon display and Tornado role demo were fantastic although the VC-10 on its second fly past probably made more noise. Seeing a Lakenheath F-111 in the museum was a brilliant surprise as I had no idea there was one there... A good show overall and a nice appetite wetter for RIAT.

Thoroughly enjoyed the show today, got to spare a thought for the AV8tors whose routine was cut short due to the one and only real shower. Highlights for me was the Jag taxi run, Typhoon, Reds, VC10 and the P40 just to name a few.

Well done Cosford, interestingly, how many people attended? Seemed to be a good crowd but I suspect not full to capacity.

Cheers
Tim

I had an amazing day today at cosford and for me the blades were top of the class. this was my first show of the year and i loved the reds and the typhoon i feel both displays are much better than in recent years. I was also impressed with the pitts pair never seen them before thought there show was very tight and full of action. shame the aerostars was a 5 ship but i thought there was only going to be 3 for half the day as only 3 turned up in the morning. thought from start to finish today was a great show and i never left the display line the whole day. oh and the weather was alot better than thought i have even got a bit of sun burn

If Kemble last year taught me anything it was that it can be cloudy and rainy all day and you can still come away with bad sunburn so just before the Jaguar taxi run I dashed back to my car and put on a few layers and even though we didnt see the sun much until the late afternoon I am glad I did.

Great days flying loved pretty much all of it. You must act on the gazebo brigade on the front row, it's just plain rude
