Tickets sold out online -any ideas on how to get one?

Post by DerekGM6 »

Tickets are sold out online and I left it too late. Can anyone suggest a way of tracking down two unsold tickets? EG auction sites? Tickets are available at retail outlets around Birmingham area but only by visiting personally, and I live in Cornwall.

No way you can phone one of the outlets, pay over the phone and have them post you the tickets?

Just a suggestion:
I'm guessing there aren't any trains from Cornwall that would get you to the show early/late enough to do the whole trip by train but you could always drive to a suitable railhead (Wolverhampton, Brum, Telford etc) and get the train from there to/from the show using the combined rail and airshow ticket.

The combined ticked can be purchased in advance from any staffed rail station in the UK and you can buy those tickets with any origin (e.g. you could buy a Wolverhampton to Cosford Air Show from the ticket office in Truro), and I presume they'd also still be available 'on the day' from whatever station you started from.

Daniel

That would be my suggestion too. I believe my local co op (Tamworth) still have some left, and they have a post office in store too. Not sure if they'd take a card payment over the phone but might be worth a shot. I may have been able to help further but we go on holiday tomorrow evening, ironically to Cornwall!

Not sure I'd risk getting one on the day with this line up!

TICKETS ARE NOT AVAILABLE ON THE DAY!

The only way to purchase tickets now is from retail sale outlets, which are listed on the website: http://www.cosfordairshow.co.uk/retail.php At the moment I'd say retail sales are also on track for a full ticket sell-out so I'd recommend getting them as soon as possible. I realise this may not be practical advice for many of your living further away but this is the situation with 10 days to go to the show!

So the combined rail tickets are no longer available? I'm very glad I got my show ticket weeks ago now!

Is the op able to order them from RAF Cosford museum or one of the other outlets to be posted I wonder?

If your desperate Ebay have some up for sale starting at £50 going up to £90 for a pair and 1 Club ticket at £30. If you go for the Club ticket make sure they transfer it over to you.

I do hope that if someone sells a pair for £90 on Ebay they give the £46 profit to Cosford too

Try the Midland Air Museum. Give them a call and see if they can take payment over the phone and pop a couple of tickets in the post.

How about a local coach company? Then you'd be killing two birds with one stone

I believe Harry Shaw Coaches from Coventry are still selling this tour on their website, pick ups from Coventry, Bedworth and Nuneaton only

Rich, did you order physical tickets or e-tickets? In any case, it's SEE Tickets you need to phone and enquire with.

People do it all the time, I've known people to buy 50 tickets for Global Gathering etc and sell them double(+) the price a few nights before..

Naughty isn't it, especially when there are charities involved (although I appreciate the charities will not actually lose out, as presumably the tickets have originally been bought at face value).

Find a coach company - I'm going with Woods of Leicester.

Quick question, what's the capacity for the airshow this year?

I would have thought the capacity has more to do with the number of cars that can be accommodated Chris. As for the number of people that's possibly unknown as many look like they've chosen the train option, not too sure if the team get feedback from the rail operators?

Thanks Tim. There must be a finite number of tickets available though, even including the combined rail tickets? :dunno: Just curious

Thank you to all who have replied with advice, sorry I've not responded earlier, been a bit busy with work and to be honest I'd rather given up.. but I will explore all remaining possibilities.
