RIAT Weather

Well, I would like to know what the weather is going to be like on the day. That's why I look at forecasts. I don't get worked up about it - I just want to be as prepared as possible for most eventualities.

Looks like we're going to have a low pressure system bang smack over the top of us on saturday.

Yes, BBC weather site forecasting heavy rain for Swindon on Saturday! Let's hope that is not the case.

I had the pleasure of Cosford and now on my RIAT debut it looks like I'll be experiencing the same thing :wall:

How about everyone wait until the morning of when they go to judge what the weather's like for the day? The majority of the time, the tools get it wrong! And Metcheck is probably one of the worst websites to judge the weather...

Seemed quite accurate for the Cosford weekend

Every weather station, website, centre etc said the same for that one, that's probably the only time you can trust them. If reports are mixed, you just have to risk it.

What day/s are you going?

And you're making assumptions about the weather on Saturday the Monday before?

The BBC Countryfile forecast on Sunday clearly showed a low pressure system in the Atlantic tracking towards the north of the UK. It did not look like it would pass over the south of the country although that might change.

I'm packing my wellies and wet weather gear just in case - hopefully I won't need them.

I'll pack my usual airshow kit of waterproofs, suncream, hat, umbrella and the best thing of all, a fresh pair of socks and shoes for the drive home.

I'm hedging my bets at the moment as to whether to go Saturday or Sunday. I'll get an either day e-ticket and make up my mind on Friday.

BBC Weatherman on BBC News (11.30pm Mon) "The weather for the weekend...doesn't look good" - waterproofs and golf umbrella at the ready then. Just hope there is a reasonably strong wind and highish cloud base.

For the last 2 years I have attended the Sunday and for the last 2 years that has been the worst of the 2 days so this year I decide to go on Saturday and it looks like it will be a wash out both days

The weather forecast for Yeovilton was pretty much rain all after noon but apart from a bit of drizzle every few hours for 1-5 mins it was fine so I am just going to ignore the weather forecasts for Fairford and take an umbrella, coat and sunscreen and just enjoy the day
