Wishlist for 2012

It's only April, operational units (such as the 48FW) will confirm if they are able to provide assets for the static display much closer to the time, eg late June / early July. Same goes for most of the RAF statics. It's not as easy as someone from a squadron saying "Yeah we'll just send a couple of jets for the static."

Can i just say thank you Jumbo jet for a normal post!!

Jackyriatwilson

Most of us are capable of deciding whether there is. a, good probability of the rumour, b, reasonable probability, c, little probablity or d Utter crap.

If anyone beleives a c or a d because someone as written it on here thats up to them, we dont need pages and pages of these shouldnt say this and shouldnt do that stuff.

Lets leave the wish list to a wish list, participants to participants, rumours to rumours (individuals deciding whether to beleive it or not) without having all these little arguments it only supresses what people wish to write and mean i have to trawl through pages and pages of cr4p

Jacky,

You and your brother (TomTwin) have both been guilty, on many occassions, of getting over excited about rumours over the past couple of years, thankfully he (your brother) seems to be rather more busy sticking pieces of plastic together (and doing a good job as it happens) at the moment. Why all of a sudden are you being a miserable, cynic? It's totally out of character for you. :dizzy: Anyway, as pointed out, this is a wish list so in the absence of a "rumour thread" I think Ruben's post belongs here, can you imagine the whinging if he'd posted it in the participants thread.

Some people are privileged to info that may be exciting and to let us know about this is kind, especially as the info in question wasn't necessarily "signed off" as it were. If the poster is unwilling or unable to reveal their source, deal with it! I'm sure the rest of us can take what the poster is saying with a pinch of salt and bide our time until an announcement is made.

I'm sick of it Wes, I'm sick of people writing nonsense. Sorry it comes over miserable but I would like to see evidence before people start saying "IT'S COMING." Ruben's posts are welcome, I never said they weren't, I just think there should be evidence shown just to know we aren't being taken for a joke, you know in this day and age trolls are around and willing to spread anything. In the future therefore I will sit back and wait, keeping my mouth shut, as obviously it's caused offence. The information is exciting yes, do not get me wrong.

I would like to apologise to Rubens for my outburst earlier, I think I was at some point totally wrong.

Back to the wish lists, I can think of a few statics that might not be wholly unreasonable

Norwegian Falcon 20ECM
Slovenian Cougar and/or Bell 412
Austrian PC-7 (do they still have the one with the snake paint job?)
Austrian PC-6B
Italian Coast Guard ATR42
Canadian C-17 and/or A310 (hey, they're going to Florennes... tell 'em to stick around for their Queen!)

And for a flight of fancy...

Egyptian Buffalo

For me, the only things left on my list would be a Sukhoi Su-27/30/34/35 ( either a solo demo, Russian Knights or even static like last year, doesn't matter  ), the rumoured Super Bug, a Polish MIG-29, some F-15's and to that extent some USAFE participation or a Sukhoi T-50 PAK FA. I know some are farfetched but who's to say the YAK-130 won't be the only thing coming from Russia? Just to see that is fitting enough, but you never know what could happen until showtime!

This year is looking ace compared to recent years. The variety and exoticness ( if that is a word ) of the items on show are certainly an improvement! DBH should be proud of their efforts this year.

Quick question to engage opinions on here but:

With talks being advanced with Brietling participation - Who on here would want/like to see the Jetman Yves rossy fly at the show?? After all we do have parachutists.

A MIG-25 would be great.

By the way..don't know where to post this... But the Malta Armed Forces should be coming to RIAT with their new King Air.... And the source is from the AFM themselves....

If RIAT could get the Ukranian Su-27 in the flying display for 2012 that would be the icing the cake for me

I know it may not be particularly cool, but I would dearly love to see a VC10 and a TriStar, either on static or for a special treat, a flypast! They would fit in well with skylift theme, showcasing the transition to Voyager, A400M etc.

Don't know if there is an Ukranian SU-27 display. Last time I know of was @ Brno 2007... Can anybody confirm this? And what's the reason they don't display it anymore?

Definitely not in 2007. You don't honestly think I would go to the toilet during a Flanker display?

With Waddington getting the Koreans after RIAT, could RIAT possibly get the Qatari C-17 & C-130 to pop in for a visit? Add the C-130 to the long line up of Fat Alberts and then How about a (hopefully) long line up of C-17's UAEAF (Supporting Al Fursan) Qatari, RAF and USAF hopefully RIAT could get a NATO one in from Hungary(!) Then ask/ beg RAAF & RCAF if they could send one each over for a "long range deployment/ navigational excersize" and possibly get the IAF to visit while one is on it's delivery flight! Imagine that, what a sight that would be 8 C-17A's from all the countries using them
