Ahh Tampere, the only airport I have been to where there was an aircraft disaster movie playing in the departure hall cafe

Would be good to see the Finns back next year

We sent a Typhoon a few years ago (2007 IIRC).

And we got a Finnish Hornet display in 2007 for that. Airshow appearances are all give and take, and the less the RAF appears abroad the less we'll see over here.

The Reds did a lot of overseas shows this year displaying in Turkey, Slovenia, France, Belgium and Holland. The BBMF have also sent their aircraft to Switzerland, Poland and the Czech Republic, and even Tornado GR4s attended Izmir and Zeltweg (yes, during the Libyan crisis!)

Great news if the Finnish F-18C does indeed confirm! Looked a stonking display at Leeuwarden this year!

Would be nice to see a B-52 back in the air seeing it's the 60th anniversary of the first flight.

Agree with you on this , just wasn't the same without a flying B-52 this year.....
On another note , finger's crossed on the Finnish Hornet . Let's hope for a cracker of a show next year.

Just saw they have changed the date at their own site's participating aircraft page, although the participants listed are still those from 2011. Any update coming up?

To be honest, I would say there is a high possibility of a FRIAT update before Xmas, but no public ones.

Well we haven't had a FRIAT newsletter for how long? They might be a couple announced then but I doubt it at this early stage.

I don't really see much point in the Newsletters now. Too many other ways of getting news out.
