Exciting announcement, any jet from a debut country and i'll be exstatic, although I suspect it'll be something for the skylift theme.

I'm making my prediction now, and this is an educated guess based on collated information from other forums on what is rumoured to be confirmed for another show next week....

Interesting call but would the JF17 not come from Pakistan and they have been to RIAT before

The Chinese are pushing it for export, it may be a Chinese (aka FC1) example rather than Pakistan this time

I think if one was coming it would definitely have been announced by now, I don't think its the sort of thing that would be a rranged and added at the last minute. Next time Farnborough comes around in 2014 is much more likely, in fact I would actually be surprised if there isn't one attending that year.

B-52 has cancelled at Waddington. The wording doesn't sound very good for RIAT either.. Unless i'm reading to much into it

Cancellation- It is with great regret we have to announce the cancellation of the B52 in this years flying display. News was recieved earlier that there are unforseen basing issues that cannot be overcome for the aircrafts deployment to the UK. Despite trying to work out several different plans, including static display, from both the USAF and the Airshow sides of the planning team, the issues cannot be resolved. It is a great loss from the flying display and we are all very dissappointed with the news as are the crew themselves.

That doesn't bode well. :hide:

However, the DoD are supporting the Buff flyby at Farnborough, so on that basis I'd be very surprised if they cancel. It may just be that Waddo and Avord miss out and the Buff comes into Fairford on one of the arrival days instead?

How do you not tolerate it? Someone can ask a question they wish, I can safely guess that more questions will have been asked by forum members who have simply not posted on here that they've asked.

Perhaps it would be better to say, we do not condone nor encourage our members hassling, that way, you don't sound like you're threatening your members.

I agree that individuals directly emailing or calling display teams and organisers is unacceptable, but where this is done through a social media site like Facebook or Twitter then asking questions is fair enough. The purpose of such sites is to enable direct communication, and from what I have seen they are happy to answer questions. If they want to use social media to promote themselves and their events, then they need to engage with those that they solicit. Indeed from what I have seen many organisers and teams are positively embracing it. The BBMF and Waddington are particularly good examples of this. I think the moderators need to move with the times, rather than threatening people for legitimate communication.

Due to the volume of aircraft that need to be added to this week's participation list, there will be a delay in the publication of our update. We hope to have it online by 5pm today. Please accept our apologies for the wait. :-)
