RIAT could raise some extra funds by renting the cones out for the rest of the year to local Highways Departments. Just think of the hours of fun to be had when sitting in stationary traffic looking out for a green or blue cone with 'which aircraft is this?' still marked on it.
I knew there had to be a connection! Ice cream vans and cones.....CONES and MORE CONES!!! . I hate all those cones!!!
Have you tried a choc ice instead?

The cones are Green or Blue. So I don't believe the Highways agency or any other local council would be interested somehow..... Going on the fact that they usuall prefer Yellow or Red! :handbag:
You can please some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time.....

Well if thats the case RIAT should be ashamed! Instead of charging us £95 for a sheet of A4 with three arrivals on it, paint the cones red, rent them out and give us a break.

Still no news on this year's X-Factor stage star either  Last year this news was one of the first press releases - what is happening to this show, its all rare aircraft this year

Does anyone remember the queues to get out in 1989????? That was the extremely hot, possibly the hottest RIAT ever. Just remember the amount of cars having to pull over, radiators boiling up (Austins, Rovers and Fords especially!) and having to await the water truck which was kindly driving back and forth offering stumped drivers the chance to refill their engines so they could get on the move again.

I bet there were some big bills for cracked engine blocks as the weeks progressed though

Apparently Engleburt Dumpertruck will be making a guest appearance... wearing the same waiters outfit he wore so uncermoneously at the Euro-Yawn last weekend... I consider the two-seater Czech Air Force MiG-21 ejention seat test bed could deliver him to Fairford, and eject him at extremely low level... Woudl make a great opener to the event.

Seriously RIAT looks brilliant this year. Can't wait.

I hope that's sarcasm, this is the RIAT Moaners Thread and I'm fed up of people going on about how good it's going to be. There's no Raptor or B-1 flying so it's going to be terrible. :hypno:

Not wishing to tempt fate, and I'm not exactly sure if this needs a separate thread.... :handbag: but...

The year RIAT got cancelled due to the rain.......

How much rain do you reckon we've had compared to that year it got cancelled? :-X

So we are on Friday already and still waiting for our update this week!

Why can't they tell us if (and if so which) aircraft are still at Fairford and how the base has withstood the show?
A weather forecast is a forecast and just that
