Indeed, but a high pressure area moves pretty slow but im still confident it reach the uk by next week. But you really cant say by now even the experts are not sure.

The major models are mosty agreeing with it being 'unsettled' next weekend, but the details on where will see the wettest/brightest weather won't be clear until midweek of course.

I'd go for sunny spells and showers, and temps 16-19°C atm, which wouldn't be too bad tbh after last year's Saturday morning endurance!

Still too early of course but I'd rather see this forecast for Wednesday rather than another sea of fronts moving across. If it establishes then it could make for a decent weekend.

In plain terms it means wet at midday on Saturday and dry on Sunday but this will change on a daily/hourly basis...

There has been lots of debate and speculation about the weather. What I can confidently predict is that there will be some - weather that is, but whether the weather will be good or whether the weather will be bad remains to be seen. Whether I stay dry or whether I get wet depends on the weather and I am still undecided about whether I should take an umbrella in case of inclement weather or whether I shouldn't bother and just hope for some decent weather.

Either be guided by your instinct or keep an eye on the charts during the week.... I did the latter and there were no surprises at Duxford yesterday...

I'll go out and buy the largest umbrella I can find tomorrow, and when I pack up the van I'll make sure to only pack wet weather gear, and I'll leave all my shorts, t-shirts and sunscreen at home. That way, we'll all be guaranteed sunshine and happiness from Wednesday to Monday.......

Exactly the reverse of what I did last year :(

Rain looks almost certain towards the end of the week - some sites suggesting both days (Saturday and Sunday) could see 'monsoon' conditions.

It does astonish me that year after year we get rain in some form or another at RIAT,can anyone actually recall a year when there was no rain and brilliant sunshine from wed to mon,Iam surprised the UK has so many outdoor events such as airshows and concerts when we seem to,frankly, not have the weather for it,it's enough to make you emigrate

The last time the Osprey's were here. I think 2006 was a super hot and super dry. If I remember right. All of the UK broke temperature ranges into the high 30's

I do remember getting very very red that year.

Ok that explains why I can't recall last hot RIAT as was still living in Australia at that time,(the irony of it).

Very grim. I would not expect much flying, given the predicted forecast.
