Yep, arrivals and departures, plus rain and then some more rain.

I'd rather see the Greeks send a different type not seen in the UK before, like a Canadair CL-415 water-bombing demo.

Nothing from South Africa - really would like to see more participation from them in the future. Hawk 120 in the SA livery would be great, or their display team The Silver Falcons. Does the Mirage F1 still fly? :heyhey:

They grounded/ retired the Mirage F1 AZ in 1997 and the F1CZ in 1992, a long time ago unfortunately

I thought I remembered seeing one fly at the Waterkloof Air Show in 2011? Might have been ex SAAF?

I believe it is ex-SAAF. A few were also sold to the Gabonese, not sure whether they're still flying or not. (Not that we'd be seeing one anytime soon if they were. )

The US Navy Super Hornet schedule's (VFA-106 & VFA-122) have been released on Facebook and unsurprisingly no UK dates this year

Latest Update - 10/01/13

We received an encouraging letter in the New Year from the USAF's Air Education and Training Command stating that whilst they were unable to commit at this time, they would look to see which aircraft they might have available. We shall let you know when we hear further.

In his letter accepting a personal invitation to attend RIAT 2013, a senior member of the Royal Moroccan Air Force stated: "Regarding your request for the participation of some RMAF aircraft either in the SkyGuardian operational theme or in the flying or static display programme, necessary steps are being taken to consider and possibly schedule such contributions."

The Central Flying School's Helicopter Examining Squadron based at RAF Shawbury is looking to send a Squirrel HT1 helicopter for the Air Tattoo's static display. The basic trainer provides an excellent lead-in to helicopter pilots of the three Services, who must have already completed their elementary fixed-wing aircraft training. The Squirrel is also used on the advanced single engine phase as students prepare for the complexities of twin engine helicopter training and operational flying.

A small delegation from the Air Tattoo will be attending next month's European Airshow Council convention in Antwerp, Belgium. The two-day gathering features a range of speakers including Nick Cook, the Air Tattoo's Safety Services Manager who will talk about Emergency Services at Airshows; and Air Tattoo commentator Ben Dunnell who will talk about airshows from a spectator and commentator's viewpoint.

I would love to see a Mirage, F-16 or F-5 in the flying or static display from Morocco. If CIAF have got the Ukrainian Su-27 in their flying display, could it possibly mean that it will visit RIAT? here's hoping!

I'm surprised we haven't heard anything from from the Ukrainians yet , after all they have said on websites (3 Goverment sites to be exact) that they are participating in RIAT. Maybe RIAT are holding back all additions of participating aircraft untill next week when the tickets go up? or Royal Mail has lost the letter?

Afternoon all,

It's been said many times before but I'll repeat - we don't make any announcements without receiving official notification from nations/air arms. We haven't received anything from the Ukraine and there's certainly no 'holding back' of any information with regard to ticket sales.

Cheers, Tom

Thanks Tom, sorry for the comment, and thank you for all the effort being put into RIAT 2013.
P.S. loving the Typhoon lineup idea, hope it all goes to plan.

Was it the USAF AETC that sent the excellent (imo) Altus C-17 and KC-135 for the flying display in 2010?

I believe it was. Would be great to see that C-17 again.

Strong rumours about that display also visiting Radom, together with a static Frogfoot. It's not as if Ukraine has ever really disappeared from the scene (they visited a couple of shows in Belgium static in recent years), but they seem to be upping their game this year if the rumours are correct. :heyhey:

I'd rather have a static Su-24 from Ukraine, while there's still time...

Connie for RIAT.

I have just received a newsletter from the European Federation Historic Aviation, amongst other things is quite a bit of information about the Breitling Super Connie.

This caught my eye:

"For 2013 visits in Le Bourget (June), Fairford (July) and Sanicole (September) are planned, again respecting the country specific restrictions to carry passengers."
