Oh well... uhm... jee... err... i'm not sure if we have enough room for a whole display team...

How about just a couple of F-16s or F-5s instead?

Blue Phoenix are only a couple of years old, so they might want some more exposure. Where better than RIAT to get that. It's a very outside chance but you never know. My money is on a 737 if anything to be honest though.

Given the distance to Thailand , coupled with the range of a PC-9 , not to mention some of the countries en-route , I'd have thought that the logistics of getting a team across here would be somewhat difficult.
Not sure about a 737 , the ubiquitous Herky would be more likely.

It's still in that scheme I believe.

I think a C-130 is the most likely participant from that far away, although they do look very smart aswell.

The F-16 was last seen in the special colour, one week ago during the Children's Day in Thailand!!

This could be a good publicity stunt for RIAT - Thai Fighters descend into RIAT 2014

There was a Thai Gripen at the SAAB 100th anniversary show at Malmen in 2012, so not without precedent for one making the long trek to Europe for a show.

The Thai Gripens were being manufactured in Sweden hence the attendance at Malmen however all twelve have been delivered now.

The Thai Gripen at Malmen though hadn't yet been delivered to the Thai Airforce so no long trek was involved

The only Thai involvement we should be considering is their outstanding F-16 display. Absolutely amazing - a fine way to celebrate the F16 anniversary, along with the beast from Bosphorus. :joystick:

I was under the impression they had about three different pilots anyway? Maybe wrong?

No. They have 3. Which will include Cpt. Yusuf Kurt in 2014, providing SoloTurk accept. He has extensive routine knowledge from outgoing Cpt. S.Yalın Ahbab and will, more than likely, become the main demo pilot captain for the foreseeable.

People said that about the Italian Typhoon display last year which was tame compared to the RAF one. We can hope it's as good but if it's his first season then it might be a little held back.

I agree the Typhoon display was not very impressive. However, I think it's fair to say Maj. Luca Campello from Reparto Sperimentale Volo was hampered with the display distance between aircraft and runway - clearly not helped by the sweeping changes to RIAT last year. In addition, it was a debut of the type from that particular air force so I don't believe we saw the polished display in its entirety. Whether it would have had more impact had it been closer is 'probably' a guess, but I have seen the display at Rivolto and it was 'head and shoulders' above the performance at RIAT last year. :dunno:

You could argue SoloTurk are more familiar with their surroundings at Fairford, so let's hope the beast lets rip if they're invited. :joystick:

Good noises being made. I hope some Thai a/c do indeed make it to FFD. An F-16 and some C-130 support would be top, but I'd imagine that they'd want to show off their new Gripens?
