I don't mean the silly rumour mongering or daft (Swedish) provisional calendars, I mean the actual teams releasing their schedules in advance of DBH doing so. The Raptor being a case in point. We all knew about that before it was announced by DBH. It doesn't really make any difference I know (and I appreciate it is logistically harder to do), but I wonder if they have considered updating as and when, rather than once a week?
Just a thought
Well they confirmed the Spanish F-18 last Friday could have easily saved it for today but instead put it out as and when they had confirmation and despite certain display teams confirming their presence via social media I think they still won't confirm said act until they have that letter in hand.

Would like to see an update we know nothing about yet. Seems that every act in the flying so far we've had prior knowledge, not complaining, but does dim down the excitement for Thursdays 12 o'clock updates.
Unlikely, but I wonder if the L159 duo will have pyro's?
That linked story makes no mention of where the Alpha Jet will display, and there's no schedule published as far as I can see. And nothing to suggest it is (or isn't) coming to RIAT.

Well how about we go back to the good old days - rush down the newsagent every two weeks to sneak a look in Aviation News in the hope that one or two items maybe be announced - the only way of finding out anything - usually nothing in it. But then again FRIAT was four quid (I think and is was FIAT) not that you got much. Still we knew there would be loads of F104s, Drakens, Mysteres, the odd KC97, more Hunters and C130s etc that you can list and so on..

If you'd just looked earlier in this thread you'd have found a reasonable answer...

expects replies about the lack of aerobatics in the Thunderbirds display - chooses to ignore them and waits for a sensible answer...
Not that it bothers me, just curious if there is indeed any difference? It's not exactly a role demo is it?
I think it's just an Americanism of the same but different. Back in the day the USAF only had the Thuds with no full on solo demonstrations and so everything that a "modern" USAF pilot could do with an aloominum persoot ship was encapsulated in the Thuds sequence. There's certainly as much aerobatics in a Thunderbirds display as there is in a Red Arrows one...
If life gives you melons then you're probably dyslexic

They will not release flares because the infrastructure is not in place at Fairford to support live ordnance on aircraft but ground based pyrotechnics are used - although I can't remember them for anything other than UK acts.
