So Tom, can we expect Sally B to perform at RIAT then please? Likewise, P-38 & P-51 would be worthy of solo displays too without adding too much piston content to avoid annoying the jet enthusiasts?

Regardless of lineages, military or not, I'll be there to support the USAF 70th Anniversary.
Raptor, Thunderbirds, rotary or jet, old and new, weird and wacky!
For me it's all about the show and enjoying what I love doing.

If we get great things then well done Tom and the team.

So next week when they pull a Su-27 from Ukraine with a Il-76 as support and a Romanian Mig-21 out of the bag will people be complaining that it has nothing to do with the US celebrations?

Well that managed to fill another two pages.

Of course Sally B should be there if the anniversary is going to be celebrated properly, but what are the chances? :dunno:

Got to be quite high as it is an opportunity for the organisers to show support to the US celebrations and their commitment to the show and parked next to its 'little friend' (F22) will make an interesting comparison of 70 years

Airshowinfo.hu have a list of events the Czech AF are apparently supporting and RIAT is listed, tomorrow's update?

Jas-39C Gripen,
3x L-159A Alca - 3 seems a bit odd ?
CASA C-295

https://airshowinfo.hu/hirek/en/item/38 ... -2017.html

I know it's not conmfirmed by DBH blah blah blah

Last years duo-demo with a spare comes to mind.

They displayed as a 'role demo' pair at Ostrava last year - interesting routine by all accounts.

Last year, I saw a nice tactical & syncro demo by 2 L-159s at Hradec Kralove. Wouldn't mind encountering those again at some point.

Indeed, saw it at Malmen, quite a nice display to be fair with synchronised stuff, cross overs, mock straffing runs and the archetypal slow dirty/high speed pass. Not my favourite aeroplane but they make a lot of noise.

I've begun to not even consider things until it's on the official site (even though that source is generally reliable).

I'd go further and say I don't get too excited til it's on the tarmac, at least until something is through the traditional RIAT lead in cancellation period.

L-159 is a nice aircraft and a pairs display sounds particularly interesting. Would be great if they brought along one of their L-39s as well!

Biggin might have to get added to the list now too, shaping up nicely. Saw the Mi-171 a few years ago at Kleine Brogel and it was ace.

Or one for display, a display spare and one for static.

Snap - I am absolutely desperate to see a Hind (flying if possible but I'd take a static) as I've missed the RIAT's when it's appeared since the late 90's! In fact, I'd give up the Grippen to see it :lmao:

The Croatian Hip was one of my fav static items last year

The Czechs tend to not send a spare aircraft now, suggesting we're likely to see the pairs display.. if the list is true of course.

The czechs did a duo display with two 159s at the Swedish 90 last summer. And the hungarians bought an an26 for support. That would be a nice change from another c295

Although a little unlikely as it seems the Czechs no longer use the An-26.
