To me, there's a difference to the fact that enthusiasts shouldn't be entitled, and expect foreign participation, just because "they owe us" because of the one time the RAF managed to go and attend their show(s), but it's another thing entirely to think "nah, we don't deserve anything from them".
If Spain, or anywhere else, wants to send their stuff to the UK, though, bloody well good on them, I say. The entire point of the stupidity of the "they owe us" argument, is that clearly airshows wouldn't work on that basis, and a vast, vast amount is based on goodwill and generosity. You're correct, we have indeed been very lucky with their generosity, as we have with Poland, France, the US, Canada, Japan, Jordan, and a whole swathe of other nations.
At any rate, it doesn't stop anybody saying what we'd like to see, or chatting about the wider subject of what air arms have to offer.

So if Ukraine decides to send an An-70, Su-24 & Su-25 the first thing you'd say is 'Urgh but we don't send anything there'. That must be really fun.

Re: RIAT 2018 discussion
In the case of the Ukraine and other countries in that neck of the woods, we might not send something to an airshow, but we’re spending a fortune right now sending ships, aircraft, vehicles and personnel to help them keep the Russians at bay. An Su-27 display isn’t a bad token of gratitude is it? It’s not only about airshows.

Super Hornet
Nope, it's definitely footage of the Swiss (legacy) Hornet display.
Re: RIAT 2018 discussion
USAF F22 Team have confirmed on Twitter that they are a no show for RIAT 2018. Shame but plenty to look forward too.

They've been the last two years, so not going to hold that against them. I've always found the obsession with the F-22 demo funny, but mostly because I've seen it so many times. There's been years where I've seen them at 6 or 7 different shows. Honestly I fly to Europe to see aircraft that don't fly here...although I'm looking forward to seeing the Canadian Hornet getting their vapour on.
Re: RIAT 2018 discussion
Guess I'm destined not to see an F-22 display. Missed last year and the previous year it aborted it's display moments in. Is there anything left from the USAF/USN displays that hasn't already been ruled out? Mostly disappointed at Couteau Delta self un-confirming so far though. All hopes pinned on Ukraine bringing their Flankers back or the Italian's Tornado or Polish Fulcrum now.

Not strictly USN, but Boeing regularly display their F/A-18E/F at RIAT during F’boro years. Other than that, perhaps a CV-22 display from Mildenhall. Or European-based US assets performing some form of flypast.
No guarantee of any of them, but AFAIK, they haven’t been ruled out either, which was your question.

Re: RIAT 2018 discussion
Oh yeah, the Super Hornet must be a possibility still. The thing is, whilst I love F-16's, Typhoons and Gripens and would never complain that there are too many of them (there can't be too many of any fast jet), they are pretty common (when's the last time a RIAT didn't have one each of those three?) and it does take a Raptor, Su-27, Fitter pair or something of that ilk to make RIAT extra special. The Super Hornet is a great addition to any RIAT (even if it's an ummarked jet and not always flown that spectacularly). I'm still just wondering what beyond a Friday flypast of Typhoons (launched and recovered elsewhere) they've got planned to meet the expectations of a show that has been several years in the planning. I'm unbelievably excited and nervous simultaneously.

Gonna bite on that one... it wasn’t on their original schedule and wasn’t on their amended schedule. There was no point whatsoever in people asking them.
Just because there is a gap in a schedule on a weekend that there is an event you’re going to doesn’t mean they are planning to attend. Those posting all over SM “there’s a gap.etc” are getting a little tedious....

Also, one of the recommendations following the last Blue Angels crash was to introduce more down time during the season due cumulative fatigue. The US display teams season basically runs from March to November, and while they maybe not fly as many displays in a day, the distances covered between displays and going back to their base are huge.
