Tuesday - Arrivals

Post by Airwolfhound »

Does anyone know what the plans are for Tuesday arrivals. Are either of the P&V enclosures open or are they only open from the Wednesday onwards ?

I had a brief look at my FRIAT bits and bobs and didn't spot anything obvious, but I was only scanning the paragraphs to be fair.

I started to look through the 170+ pages on the RIAT 2018 discussion thread but my head began to hurt after the first few pages :dizzy:

Happy to be called lazy, but would also appreciate a helpful answer

Thanks :-)

P&V is open.

It is not included in the FRIAT package.

Tickets are £10.

P&V is open on Tuesday at a tenner a ticket. Its not included in Mach 3, you need to buy it separately and in addition to. Details on RIAT website. Here you go:

Really £11 a ticket as you have to pay £1 the privilege to print them off yourself. Administration is so expensive these days!

I really don't get why FRIAT don't get access on Tuesday. Seems a bit of a con to me... then again, i'm the fool since I will be paying the asking price.

The fact they're only charging £10 does suggest it's not going to be busy...

DBH claim it's because Mach 3 has 'always' been a six-day package and couldn't be extended to cover the Tuesday as well, for some reason. Maybe it would be 'unfair' to all the Mach 3ers in the past who paid, err, £10 less for their packages... wait a minute. We paid more this year and they still wait another tenner?

Unfortunately it's all these little nicks and sideswipes that have rather soured me on (F)RIAT. I shan't be paying for the Tuesday, we're planning to go and spot at Brize instead and take a sprint over should anything interesting come up on the grapevine.

Well that can't be true, as the only other time it extended over an extra day in 2003, the Tuesday arrivals were included in the FRIAT package. I certainly don't remember paying any more. And it was the only really good weather day that year.  grizzle grouch
