I know it's a wish list but let's at least keep it somewhat realistic.

Personally i'm hoping for a flypast by a Saturn V.

The Saturn V was technically present at the 2018 show... Al Worden had challenge coins on him made from a Saturn V.

.... No I didn’t get one but heI did give me a lapel pin and a personalised signed photo to say thank you for driving him to see the Hunter and Vampires :-)

That sounds enjoyable, did you get to have a chat with him ?

Also, pretty much a dead cert for Falcon 9 demo next year now.

Nooooooo, what we really need is the Nasa 747 with Atlantis on it's back, in formation with Mrya with a Buran on it's back!

You can add RAF Phantoms, German MiG29s, French Mirage IIIs and IVs, RAF Gauntlets, DH Flamingo and Montgolfier's balloon to that list as well.

Thinking about the NATO theme and *trying* to be realistic - it would be great to see a meet of a few 'classic' NATO fighters. It would be great if we could see a few of the remaining Phantoms and F-5s and, of course, imagine if we could get the F-104 over here - even on static display!

The Starfighter would be a great fit to the theme considering how many NATO nations operated it at the height of the cold war.

Equally the Polish MiG29 and Su22 would make a great spectacle having operated on both "sides" of the Iron Curtain, and if there is any remote possibility for a MiG21 (maybe Croatia) to showcase that part along with the Ukrainians bringing their Su27s and fingers crossed Su24s.

A few more NATO helicopters in for the static park wouldn't go a miss either, some of these Tigers/Tigres and NH90s from France, Germany and Spain, Polish Mi24s, Seasprites and Mi14s for example. Doesn't have to be unrealistic, just something a little different to what we usually see.

Is there any reason the Romanians couldn't send their MiG-21 in 2019? I know they're being replaced by F-16s, but what is the actual OSD?

Right, RIAT 2019. Lets give the Wishlist a good whack:

Flying
- Mig-29 Fulcrum (Polish or Slovak, don’t mind which)
- Su-22 Pairs Demo
- Hungarian Gripen
- Pakistani JF-17
- Indian HAL Tejas (really wishful thinking)
- Malaysian Su-30
- Return of Ukrainian Su-27 with a couple more other types (Su-24/25 to name a couple)

Static
- C-5 Galaxy (has it really been 6 years since it last appeared at RIAT?)
- Qatar C-17
- Indian Il-78
- SAAB Gripen E (Prototype)
- B-1B Lancer (and a Monday departure)
- Egyptian Rafale (do they have them yet?)
- Colombian Kfir + KC-767
- Brazilian F-5
I am impartial to a bit of jet noise.

I'm surprised nobody's yet mentioned....
A bigger funfair with a very large Ferris wheel ( which will promptly be invaded by the 'stepladder brigade' to get their 'unique' photos )
More car displays-preferably something noisier than the Caterhams, though.....or even better, a speedway track!
A BFO stage/arena just inside the Blue entrance, where they can have different groups & solo artists performing each day.
More blue bollards.....I can't be the only one who felt there was a dearth of them this year.
More GA stuff....you can't have enough Cessnas, Gulfstreams, Beechcraft, Pipers, Grobs & Robins, not to mention microlights/ultralights.
Oh, and balloons.....lots of balloons

My wish for RIAT 2019... less dickheadary on the forum and social media about the show. Why can't adults behave like adults on the internet? :pinkwafer:

Well, rather than give a list of aircraft i'd like to see, i think i'll just say i'd like some joined up 'set piece' flypasts like the 617 year...... very short, but oh so very sweet!

maybe an east versus west flypast for NATO?

fighers from both sides combined?
transports " " " "
bombers as above (yeah i know, no chance, unless the Chinese come with their badger copy?)
peacekeeping
surveillance from both sides..... drones and spy/photographic aircraft area?

Maybe an Airship arena, where they fight against each other, last man standing "2 tribes" style?
i'm going for a lie down now. :dizzy:

One of my favourite Air Fete memories was an early morning practice flypast by a Slovak Mig-29 and LN F-15.

Just another for my wish list.................. how about the Czech (i think it was) Hind Display team? For those that dont know i think i saw them last at RIAT around 1996, and the display consisted of 3 Hinds doing their thing.

I'd love to see this, there was a single Hind in 2015 which was great but we don't get enough flying Eastern Bloc helicopters.
