RIAT09 Food Thread - espacially for "aliens"

Post by Eizo »

Hi,

with staying near Kempsford, what opportunities do I have when I want something to eat? Breakfast I have at my hotel, but everything else I have to find myself. (For example lots of mineral water for 6 days  ) Beeing without a car I have to admit! :loser: (Did not want to pay the overweight for my Ferrari! ) Something hot to eat in the evening would be nice too. Any shops / restaurants ... around? (And not too expensive would be great!)

Thxs for all advices
Chris

If you're near Kempsford, you could try the "George" - a pub in the village. If you fancy a bit of a walk into Fairford then The Bridge, The Bull, Allium or the Railway Inn all do food in the evening.

Nearest Tesco is in Cirencester I'm afraid... Fairford has a Londis and a Co-Op..

And they sold me a packet of out-of-date Mini Cheddars last year. Avoid

There is an Asda, Maccy D and Pizza Hut just inside Swindon, the other side of Blunsdon; the site also has a fuel station.

At Blunsdon, next to the Premier Inn there is also a gastropub called the Cold Harbor.
EDIT: Never saw the bit about not having a car lol! Sorry!

I am staying at Kempsford Camping for 8 nights.
I will be going to shop in Cirencester at Tesco on Tuesday; if you want to come I will take you there.
Please tell me where you are staying and contact details e.g. Mobile number ChrisR.
Please send me a PM or Email
Thank you

looking at the Fairford overhead picture (Google earth presumably) - what's the name of the old airfield just to the south west?
