Glad I finally caught the wall of fire last year then!

The commitments of the Attack Helicopter Force are too great to be able to support standing up a team for this year.

Hmmm.....

Or am I the only cynic here ?

Crikey, what displays are left from the three services? Red Arrows, BBMF and the Typhoon are still expected to display this year I assume, but is there anything else at all? Tuccano maybe?

No Apache, Lynx, Tornado, Herc, C-17, Atlas, King Air, Voyager, Hawk, Sea King, Merlin, Sentry, Sentinal, Rivet Joint, Chinook, Puma.

When you add the repercussions of Shoreham on vintage jets and that Scampton came and went in one year, we must surely be in the final death throes of the UK airshow.

Shame, glad i managed to get a wall of fire shot as it might be the last for a while  . I believe the chinook is the circuit this year however.

Isn’t there a defence review in progress following on from
that leaked document last week which is an existential threat to the AAC?

If so, they aren’t going to want to show off any spare capacity for a dedicated display team...

Or am I being to cynical?

Sad as one of the highlights for me of RIAT has been this display for a number of years (more so when it was the pairs version).

Don’t forget if Mrs Government has her way we may see a very quick and early end to the Tornado.

God knows what the RAF will look like then with only 8 Daves come August!
Got to love Russianhardware

No Tucano, but aside from the 3 you main ones you mention, the Grob Tutor & Falcons are listed on the RAF application for display in 2018. On static or for flypast you can apply for Tornado, Hawk, A400 and King Air.

Not sure about the other 2 services. Though the Royal Navy Historic Flight has the Sea Fury flying again and listed for displays as of 2017.

Not to say there won't be more. If I remember right, the King Air Display and Tutor displays didn't announce they were displaying until around Feb/March last year (Tutor) and around the same time in 2016 (King Air)

The Tucano crew hope to have one last display season before they retire the aircraft and bring in the 66 Texan II.

Well that's disappointing. Nailing the Apache and the wall of fire was my number one goal this summer.
