So sad. Picked this up via Twitter whilst on the hill at Shoreham - and have been hoping against hope for something other than this news, ever since. RIP - and condolences to family, colleagues and friends.

Just a thought how about we do a photo post dedicated to him with photos of the reds on their 2011 season. Is that a good idea or not. Thoughts.

Thinking of all at the RAFAT...

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

My thoughts with all the family and freinds of Fl Lt Jon Egging of the Red Arrows who sadly lost his life near Bournemouth airport. Over the years, I have witnessed a few crashes and have been attending air shows since 1989 and it never gets any easier what to say in times like this. I attend roughly around 12 displays around the country and have gotten to know many pilots who have sadly lost their lives. R.I.P. Eggman
